The source has a good track record with leaks and believes this information to be from a very accurate contact, although when it comes to leaks, we would always advise some caution.

Leaked Specifications
As far as specifications go, the Redmi 9 is the premium of the lot tipped to be equipped with a MediaTek Helio G70 SoC which is a powerful chip for this range. In fact, all three mentioned models are now supposedly powered by a MediaTek CPU. If this ends up being true, it would be a good step-up from the timid Snapdragon 439 SoC that wasn’t much liked on the Redmi 8. The Redmi 9C will feature a MediaTek Helio G35 while the Redmi 9A will rock a MediaTek Helio G25 SoC.
Moving on to other specifications, all three devices seem identical in terms of display size and battery. It’s a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with Full-HD+ resolution for all the models except the Redmi 9A has HD+ resolution. All the models have the same sizable 5,000mAh battery, which remains unchanged from its predecessor.
The changes are in the camera department. The Redmi 9A has just a single 13MP rear camera while the Redmi 9C (with NFC) gets an added 2MP depth sensor to that. The Redmi 9C (without NFC) adds another 5MP sensor to the mix making it a triple camera setup while the Redmi 9 gets one more 8MP sensor (13MP + 5MP + 8MP +2MP). All these models have the same 5MP selfie sensor.
Unsurprisingly, all the models are also likely to sport a Type-C port and a 3.5mm jack as well as a fingerprint reader. It’s worth noting that Indian and global models are sometimes changed slightly, so bear that in mind.
