Having already confirmed that the OnePlus 7 Pro has a triple-lens rear camera, OnePlus has now gone a step further and given us a hint of what it’s capable of by sharing three photos shot with the phone.
Shared on Twitter, the images (which you can see below) seemingly make use of all three lenses, with one shot being a standard one, another being wide-angle and the third making use of the telephoto lens – which we already know is capable of 3x lossless zoom.
While we’re reluctant to read too much into the capabilities of the camera based just on three images, it’s a promising showing, with the telephoto shot in particular standing out through an impressive amount of image detail.
- The OnePlus 7 range could include one of the first 5G phones
- Will the OnePlus 7 Pro rival the Samsung Galaxy S10?
- The iPhone 11 is coming later this year
The three photos also give you an idea of how much more versatile the OnePlus 7 Pro’s camera is likely to be than the snappers on previous OnePlus handsets. Saying that, it still may not be a match for some flagships, such as the Huawei P30 Pro with its quad-lens camera and 5x lossless zoom.
We still don’t know the full specs of the OnePlus 7 Pro’s camera, though rumors suggest it has a 48MP f/1.6 lens, a 16MP f/2.2 wide-angle lens, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens. Those rumors are ever more believable now that these sample photos have suggested the phone has standard, wide and telephoto lenses.
Of course, this is just the OnePlus 7 Pro we’re talking about. The standard OnePlus 7 is unlikely to be quite as impressive, and if you want the Pro you’ll probably have to pay more than we’re used to paying for OnePlus handsets. We’ll know for sure soon, as the OnePlus 7 range is set to land on May 14.
